The winners of the Short Grain Contest have been selected!
Before we announce them, we'd like to thank Cheryl and Henry Kloppenburg for sponsoring this contest for the past twenty-seven years. They are true patrons of the written word, and we appreciate their support.
We'd also like to thank our judges, Triny Finlay (poetry) and Greg Hollingshead (fiction), for their enthusiasm, expertise, and intelligence.
The winners are
First place - "Dad Now and Then" by Chris Masterman
Second place - "Six Animal Tales" by Patricia Young
Third place - "Spoiled Rice" by Sang Kim
First place - "Matryoshka, Nesting Doll" by Susan Alexander
Second place - "Elegy on Loop" by Alycia Pirmohamed
Third place - "Interrogation Log" by Steve McOrmond
All six winning entries will be published in the Fall issue of GRAIN. Congratulations to all the winners! We look forward to receiving submissions for next year's contest.
