Grain, the SWG’s journal of eclectic writing, requires two Associate Editors – one for Poetry and one for Fiction – for a one year contract.
The ideal candidate will have previous work experience in the selection and editing of literary manuscripts for publication. Knowledge of the Canadian literary community is expected and familiarity with Can/Lit journal publishing is an asset.
The successful applicant will have experience working creatively as part of a small team. Each Associate Editor will review respective submissions in their genres for each of the issues published four times a year, and will work collaboratively with the Editor to meet publication deadlines.
The Grain Associate Editors may reside anywhere in Saskatchewan. Work will be accomplished from their home-based office, with some travel occasionally required for meetings. High speed internet access is required. The candidate will demonstrate an ability to work both independently and in a team setting. In addition to a $500 per issue fee for service contract, expenses related to travel and processing manuscripts will be covered as part of the contract. The contract commences immediately.
