Party Girls
by Dave Margoshes

When Paul and Chucky's father was in his eighties, he developed what Paul thought of as a compulsive interest in an old boyfriend of their mother's, a man he referred to as "your mother's lover, the man who went back to New York." Their mother had been dead for over ten years at this time, and, after a lengthy period of intense grief, she had gradually been receding from their father's thoughts. Now she returned with what might be called a vengeance, as if she were haunting him, tormenting him from the grave.
